Curiously, this is the second single released, and the third song in the tracklist of the album A Mortal Binding, making somewhat tribute to its name. I remember the first time I heard this song; the first minutes were confirming my theory about a more melodic album than the previous releases, but then, in the minute four, the vocalist start doing some guturals, and then I was like “OMG, this is great!”.

FUN FACT: The musical video of this song was recorded inside the Antwerp Mansion, Manchester. Manchester is the same city where the band recorded their album in Mynett’s Mynetaur Productions studio; due to this, I suspect this was the first video recorded for the album.

From the debut album by the English (From Leicester) Indie rock/Britpop band, “Hold On It Hurts” (1994). The band are fronted by Tjinder and Avtar Singh, two brothers of Punjabi Inadian descent. The name was derived from the stereotype than many Indian immigrants in Britain ran corner shops, the equivalent to North America’s convenience stores.
The sound of their music also reflected an Indian influence, with the lyrical subject matter and the occasional use of classical instruments such as the sitar and tabla.
