There is a lot wrong with the Avatar show, so unless S1 is only supposed to be book 1, Sozin’s comet didn’t appear until the end of the series.

However, the article sounds more like the typical modern writers not knowing how to write.

I mean maybe it could surprise us, but these changes theyre proposing don’t fill me with much confidence.

And frankly even before the announcements it didn’t seem like my thing. I prefer the bright and vibrant Atla 2005 cartoon anyways

There’s a new Charlie Brown special coming out all about Franklin. Looks pretty average, but there’s this at least:

He finally got to sit with everyone else. Even though I’m pretty sure there’s been other specials that didn’t single him out, but as this one’s all about him specifically, it’s a nice way to make up for people being stupid in the past.

At least it isn’t like Dragonball evolution, taking place in modern day highschool drama from early talks. I don’t think anyone had much expectations for this show.

He always say with everyone, at the same table. In fact where he is they can all see him without needing to turn their heads.
Hell, Marcie is further away from everyone than him. None of the people that complain didn’t even talk about her, since most of them didn’t know or care she was there from the screenshot.

The original intent was always to have him seated with the others but executives stepped in and insisted a black kid couldn’t be on the same side as the others. Like yeah, practically it would make sense to have half the kids on one side and the other half on the other, but as a cartoon they were thinking of presentation to the audience rather than the practicality of how kids would actually sit around a table.

Another kids’ cartoon series dealt with periods. If a show has to educate young girls about their bodies changing and that there’s nothing wrong, maybe schools aren’t doing a good job.

That’s my $0.02.

Surprisingly, an episode of “Abominable and the Invisible City” dealt with a kitsune, making it a rare time a form of Western media includes such a creature.

Well, there was also Unicorn:Warriors Eternal with one of the antagonists being a female Kitsune.

I haven’t actually watched the episode yet, I was browsing a list out of boredom on Peacock, so IDK if it’s good or evil, I’m supposed to go by order so I don’t get continuity-confused (unless an episode gets put out of order like on Max with “Batman: The Animated Series”, I had to use a list of episodes ordered by production date)

We need more heroic kitsune, seriously.

The Second Season of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur dropped yesterday on Disney + and the first episode was pretty good.
I did not expect Lunella to get beat down and traumatized, and especially from Molecule Man.

You know what throws me off about this is?

They got rid of Aang’s desire to ride animals on the way to the North Pole so he could learn waterbending, which is nuking some his character development… but now they’re also getting rid of the very driving factor for him getting to the North Pole to learn waterbending as soon as possible.

So they’re doing the thing where they follow strict screenwriting guidelines where every scene has to progress the plot… but removing an actionable goal. Does not compute.

But still, it’s like what’s even the point in removing that earlier part about Aang’s more immature characterization for the sake of advancing the plot, when they’re also removing the very reason the plot is supposed to be advancing?

TBH, I have a lot of issues with the way the new showrunner is promoting it. Like how he seems to be scrubbing Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Zuko of their flaws—having Katara’s mom be killed in a spirit attack rather than a Fire Nation rade, removing Sokka’s early sexism, and giving some of Zuko’s war crimes to Zhao—and thereby scrubbing them of potential character development. Or the fact that he compared the new show to Game of Thrones, which… can we agree that comparing your adaptation to a series that notoriously dropped the ball and wiped out a lot of the goodwill people had towards it is not great in any case?

One of the biggest problems with the Shyamalan movie was that it refused to cut anything. Netflix might be playing it safe.

I’m actually afraid this new show may fall into the chess-piece storytelling slog that Shyamalan’s movie did. Where it becomes all actions and no motivations, no character depth that makes the actions worthwhile.

It’s still a legitimate fear if the showrunner is cutting out as many things from the plot as he seems to be.

Maybe adapting ATLA to live action just isn’t a worthwhile effort.

I found out that Keith Ferguson who is voicing megamind in the Peacock stuff also played him in the video game
And is it me , or does he actually sound better in this You can still tell it’s not Will Ferrell but still has some megamind energy.
Oh and the villain group is also Called the doom syndicate but with different characters
