I finally got my sister to watch Turning Red

And she liked it, it reminded her of her teen years and even got emotional at the end. I also knew she would enjoy 4TOWN as well (I also laughed when she asked why there were 5 of them only for Mei’s mother to then ask the exact same question immediately).

This movie got me into Asian culture, specifically Japanese. (Yes, I know Mei’s Chinese, but I like Japanese a little more, you know?)

No I get it, Japan does have lots of iconic content and memorable characters. I myself grew up with Pokemon, Digimon, Dragon Ball Z, Azumanga Daioh, and Studio Ghibli so I’ve always been into Japanese culture.

Well Japanese culture is in large part of an offshoot of Chinese culture. They even got their script from the Chinese. It’s like Ancient Rome borrowing from Ancient Greece.

So it totally makes sense.

I know some Asian Cultures thanks to living in California.

Even if I didn’t I woulda watched Samurai Jack to give me some insight in Japan culture. Plus my brother, Josh is Asian. So yeah.

Is he the one responsible for all the problems going on at Disney lately? I know Kevin Feige is responsible for how lackluster Marvel has been lately and Kathleen Kennedy is running Lucasfilm into the ground.

I always thought the reference of Timbuktu meant someplace really far away.

I’m only on the first chapter of Raya. So far it all feels the same, but it’s not why I got the books. I just started reading instead of playing on my phone more often. Something which pleases my mom, you know?

Imagine being so boring as to change all of them to non dwarfs.

At least Rings of Power kept them as drawfs, so you know these guys are doing wrong.

How about they focus on gives the dwarfs fun personalities that real dwarfs will love despite what Disney thinks?

This is absolutely painful to look at.
I used to stand up for the live action remakes because I liked the different takes they had on the classics, but the last few releases have been bad as they felt the need to make controversial changes that was just there way of trying to correct things that didn’t need fixing.
It’s especially bad here because Snow White was the very first film that Walt ever made and is what made the company what it is today, so there is a complete lack of disrespect to Walt’s legacy.

Kenneth Branagh is reportedly attached to direct a live-action Gargoyles movie.

The film will reportedly take place in Los Angeles as opposed to New York in the show.

Okay, news came out that the characters pictured with Snow White are Robin Hood-esque bandits who are stealing from the evil queen. One of them pictured nay or may not be the Prince.

I just got “Ralph Breaks the Internet” junior novel from Amazon (hey, I’m on a book spree), and much like the first movie, some stuff had to be changed to omit licensed characters (although early on Ralph mentions that someone was complaining that he was eating his chili dogs, implied to be Sonic’s).
