And I can deliver! Because this: @YetAnotherBrony is true, what better way to ship than to let someone else roleplay said pony?

Well, this is the tail end of it, anyways. Link. Ah, look, you made me go fish it up. My adventure began on this page…

Apparently I had good enough sense that the mod(s) decided to recruit me to become one of them.

Hate to start going off-topic, but… It’s always somewhat bothered me that I have a hard time coming up with nice, fun, innocent slice-of-life stuff, but this is definitely one way to come up with stuff. Of course, naturally, shipping oneself just takes Sturgeon’s Law and compacts it yet again, after it’s already been compacted by the fact it’s fanfiction, but I think I’m well enough aware of all the pitfalls that I could make it still interesting if I just wrote something myself… >.>

Background pony, actually, kind of adopted as an OC/Ponysona… I figured JanAnimations did it, so why not? I like his design, and he’s got an astronomy-related cutie mark, and there’s already plenty of shipping art of him with Twi, so I’ve got an awesome headstart in that regard, not to mention when I ship him with Twi, it’s not as obvious that it’s self-insert OCxcanon shipping. All according to my evil master plan, muahahahaha! XP

And that means I occasionally see my “adopted OC” in the show in background positions XD

If you think about it, just about any children’s cartoon characters are Mormon, what with the lack of alcohol, smoking, drugs, or premarital sex :p

On that one, some clearly bored American-persi mobadans have some some kind of list of The “ Most Zoroastrian Children’s Cartoons made by non-Parsi.”

Apparently MLP is around The 4th place, mostly due to The presente of two (allegedly) divine rulers, one of which is The embodimient of Light and The Sun.
One of The main villains’ used to be The embodimient of Chaos, while another was a tyrant, and two sere deceitful on two different levels (Chrysalis and Trixie).
There seems to be an eudaimonic società…

I do not currently remember who was on top, but I can remember things like Batman: The Animated Series and Veggie Tales put in lower places (althought the case of “Veggie Tales” can be easily guessed).

Althought that made me wonder how a children’s cartoon made specifically for Zoroastrian children would look, and how blatatant it could be to The unintiated.
Considered that my religion’s dogma sounds almost like a religione straight out your average fantasy… I do think it would take long to spot.

I grew up Christian and I’m all for Jesus and everything but the fear of eternal damnation kinda lost it’s effect on me somewhere along the way.

I feel fear-mongering pointless.

If Hell is only temporary (as in, one can be freed by their sins by staying enough time in Hell), and if the extremely wicked ones (very, very few) will disappear at The End of Times, what is the problem?

Sure, I don’t want to spend centuries or millennia there, but unless I turn into a mass-murderer and a serial rapist with no regret whatsoever, there’s little reason to worry.

People like to say the Enlightenment defeated Christianity.

I disagree. Christendom basically absorbed the concept of Western Civilization under its own umbrella and collapsed after World War for supporting the war.

like Tom Holland seems to argue that this is what defanged the faith. The collapse of Christendom as an idea.

What the hell?!
Nobody should have the right to just barge into a person’s home and take their kid under the name of the government. There are humanitarian laws to this and what they did most likely broke a human rights law.

A couple of things to note: the article says the parents used corporal punishment on their kids, which is illegal in Norway. Also, in cases like this we only have the parents’ side of the story, because the child protection services in the nordic countries aren’t allowed to publicly state the reasons for taking kids away from their parents, to protect their privacy.

They also take any allegations of child abuse very seriously, because there have been shitstorms in the past when they ignored some cases and children ended up seriously hurt or even dead.

They might have acted overzealously, but the story we have here is probably less black and white than the parents claim.

Messed up nevertheless.

This line disturbs me

“Biological parents have the inherent right to reasonably discipline their children. The fact that Norway has banned the corporal punishment of children does not mean Norway is right in this matter and the rest of the world wrong.”

The word reasonable is somewhat comforting, but then the acceptance of corporal punishment torpedoes that. Biological parents have every right to discipline yes, but they have no right to be physically aggressive if it starts bordering abuse.

Also, Seraph, as someone who seems to always yell at the media for blowing things out of proportion, pre-maturely taking sides, and having an agenda, you sure like to assume it’s all on the level if it fits your narrative. As Paska said, we don’t have the states side of this, we don’t know all the details. All we have is the parent words. Abuseive parents aren’t going to come out and be like “yea we abused the fuck out of them”, of course they’re going to try and paint the state as evil child nappers. I’ll wait and see how this plays out. If they took them away for religious reasons then the state is at fault, but if they were breaking the law and being overly physical than the state is in the right.
