Technicaly there are two brown ones next to pigtails. And they’re both adorable.

Pigtail Griffon and the brown one next to her are fucking adorable. And I know this sounds narcissistic as hell, hut the brown one kinda reminds me of me when my hair was short.

Fosgitt draws the most adorable Gilda ever. Love the other griffin designs too. I think he’s better at drawing Griffins than ponies.

I mean, the longer I look at these the more ok I am with them, I just keep getting hung up on the hair on their heads. I wish they’d done something like this quick edit I did:  
 
It make it look like the styles are their feather rather than hair, which puts it 100% in line with all we know about show griffons while allowing a lot of creativity. I dunno, just them having hair on their bird heads just strikes a chord with me. It’s probably not a big deal at all. I just hope the griffons exhibit some similar personality to the ones we saw in griffonstone while being personalized. Won’t find that out till the comic is out.

I’m glad he got creative with the bird types. Those look neat! I kinda wish they tried to get away with doing that with pony bods a bit, too.  
(Might get me invested in actually drawing them, I hate repeating the same body every time.)

Fair’s fair. Those people make it impossible to have any kind of civil discussion about the comics anywhere because the moment anyone so much as mentions the fact that the comics exist they jump in to hijack the conversation by whining about how terrible everything is until everyone else leaves.
 
They’re making it a point to ruin everyone else’s fun, so why shouldn’t someone else ruin theirs?

I wouldn’t really say it’s “off-model”, just cartoony. His ponies seem to stay quadripedal, the art is cleaner, and it’s cute as anything. I’m not so much bothered by the cartoony aspects of this, just that it’s not using show styles of characters for a lot of things. And in general there seems to be a low quality vibe in these, like the copy-pasted cutie marks, and heck, that whole whisk clip-art thing in the Pinkie comic.
 
I’m optimistic about this comic, but I can’t help but be critical when it starts to feel like I’m looking at something that’s distinctly not MLP.

The really wouldn’t though. Like, take a look at anything by this artist for example. His style is every bit as cartoony and quote-unquote “off-model” as Fosgitt’s, but you don’t see anybody complaining about it.
 
It’s because it’s from IDW and some people are so hell bent on making damn sure that everyone knows that they don’t like the comics that they have to constantly berate literally everything every single issue does whether or not it’s actually a problem just to make sure everyone remembers that they hate it.

I think that if this were fanart people would still complain/wonder why the artist draws like this; it being official just makes it worse and people never shut up about it existing. At some point it becomes tiresome.
