/pol/ will tell you that they memed Trump into the presidency. It’s kind of funny, they have been behind him ever since he announced in July 2015. I think /pol/ represents a faction of the alternative news segment of society which is a growing segment.

Twitter, reddit, facebook, random news site comment section, and that big work-out forum play a bigger part. Last decade, 4chan etc. has lost its lustre and is now just mostly a pool of tryhards and edgelords riding the coattails of others. They know it, and more importantly so does everyone else; it’s not the 4chan/anon legion boogeyman anymore, but the 4chan script-kiddie and underage angry lemming.
To their credit, they’re still more relevant than somethingawful.

Bit too late for that,sport, when you look at the popularity of 4chan the alternative media.Just look at how narratives like pizzerias hiding secret passages that lead to underage prostitutes or cartoonishly hook-nosed rabbis rubbing their hands and cackling like witches while plotting for conquering the world (NostalgiaCriticOfCourse.wav) spread easily
