Much appreciated! I was offered a drawing of my OC and I asked them to try a bit paler of a yellow color, but I will talk to them about the eye color as well.

I think part of what caused the negative reaction is the fact that her coat is so bright. All the ponies from the show have slightly muted colours so that they don’t overload our eyes, whereas here she’s neon-yellow, a colour that ends up looking even brighter than most other bright colours. I’d say you could also get away with giving her a different eye colour as well. Perhaps a similar colour to her cutie mark rather than her mane.

Still, it’s not a bad picture. My main criticism of the picture is this: The mane and tail don’t look lifelike, the gray irises don’t look really “natural” in the context of the MLP universe and some you your polygons looks bent up.

Thank you for the kind words. I did not draw this myself (credit goes to user Toyminator900), but I did come up with the OC. I wasn’t expecting a great reception (it is my first OC after all), I just wanted to get the idea out there.
 
Though I don’t really mind downvotes, I would appreciate some constructive criticism.

Not badly drawn. A little rough, but you have a nice future. Ignore the haters who only downvote and never tell you WHY they’re downvoting.

I’m starting to think the coat should actually be a bit greenish. I’ll make a note to ask Toy about it when I talk to him.

That could just as easily be the reason, really. I’m sure there’s been an influx of OCs recently. Maybe some people are tired of seeing them? Or they might just not like mine in particular. I know the color scheme is odd, but it’s kind of that way on purpose (she’s supposed to resemble a standard safety shirt/vest, with the yellow being the backdrop and the gray representing the retroreflective striping).
 
Ultimately it’s their decision. They don’t have to like it, and I won’t hold it against them if they don’t.

It’s kind of amazimg how many downvotes OC images have been getting as of late, especially because we should start getting more supportive of them, y’know, 5th anniversary and all.
