The main reason why I find this one embarrassing is less the writing and more the visual quality. These are earlier versions of the models that don’t look nearly as good, the lighting is bad, the render quality isn’t great, and in general I was just not as good at a technical level. I worry that seeing this first would put someone off of reading the rest of the series.
 
Still, I hadn’t thought of its value in terms of just being a prologue to the rest of the story like you describe. I was just thinking in terms of its quality in itself, which isn’t as good as I’d like.

See, I know that the WWBA index says this pilot/prototype/prologue (as it became) isn’t very good, but actually as a new reader and big fan, I think it serves an important purpose - now we can see what the Dazzlings’ “routine” existence was like before they started to make connections with their meals/victims, like… It doesn’t just show how much the story has developed, it also shows how far the characters have come since these dark days. And it’s still sexy, Aria is exactly in character for her later appearances (the “rotate your pillows” line still makes me chuckle!) and you can see her secret wish for more intimacy which she squashes down to stop herself getting attached and to look tough in front of others.  
Tl;dr I like this, I think it’s better than the artist says, and it works well as a prologue.

Yeap, she isn’t interested, but I love it when there’s imminent sex. But of course, bras and panties would be nice to show first.
