No, it really doesn’t. That explanation is exactly WHY Spike was included and in line with the themes of the show.

No, you idiots. We were clearly shown that before the Mane Six, the Pillars represented the Elements. The Elements were then transferred from the Mane Six to the Student Six. This isn’t that hard to understand. Leave it to morons like you two to overcomplicate a simple concept.

Problem is its just not right that Luna and Celestia are essentially tossed aside like that.  
Their cutie marks were on the tree there.  
Its really a bad thing that the sisters are essentially treated like “placeholders” instead of true bearers there.  
I don’t think the Elements stuff was why Luna became “corrupted” as Nightmare Moon. NMM is more like Luna’s inner darkness taking form and unleashing dark power when Luna essentially snapped from jealously, pain, loneliness, etc.
 
Its actually a bad thing the sisters purposely choose to not help for the sake of “teaching” Twilight.  
Its really bad for Luna’s case since unlike Celestia, Luna didn’t get to protect Equestria for much long. She lost a 1000 years and wouldn’t get to make up for leaving Equestria hanging like that.  
She returned from the moon only to keep on failing or sidelined when some bad guy attacks.  
Celestia should have realized that Luna’s reputation would not bold well compared to her’s due to the lost 1000 years. Celestia has the whole “Managed to protect Equestria on her own for a 1000 years” to fall back on, Luna doesn’t.

well i didn’t count them in because bearing half of those six elements might’ve been pretty risky even for the alicorn sisters(which probably explains why Luna became so corrupted and turned into nightmare moon) and also Star Swirl and the rest of the 6 pillars were present when he planted the seed over a 1000 years ago, and i think the elements prefers 6 elemental bearers, no more or less, and how the alicorn sisters were using them when their mentor is gone at the time, they were likely bearing the elements for all the wrong reasons, plus when celestia was forced to banished her own sister to the moon, she likely abandoned the elements after, because bearing all six of them would be too dangerous, even to a pure yet powerful alicorn such as Celestia, so no i don’t think they were meant to be the true bearers of the elements to begin with
 
and another thing, the reason why Celestia and Luna wasn’t helping Ponyville or anywhere in times of crisis throughout the series, was that they can not interfere in Twilight’s path of taking their place as ruler of Equestira in the end, it was all a test for Twilight from the start of it all, and Twi’s friends were a part of it as well.

I wonder where the Royal Sisters fall in due to they used the Elements before?  
Hated that despite they used the Elements before and their cutie marks were on the tree of harmony, they get no acknowledgement. Like apparently losing their connection to the Elements means all of that means nothing and the sisters are tossed away like disposable pawns or something.

Looking back I still hope the season 10 comics touch on Spike’s inclusion in the final rainbow laser.  
And no, I hope its not “its because the magic of friendship exists within everyone”. Because that explanation would just ruin the specialness of the rainbow laser there.
 
Still I wished Luna and Celestia got to be included too. Them not being in there rubbed salt in the wound that destiny tossed them aside since they are no longer connected to the Elements.

As long as we both attempt at mutual respect, that’s all one could ask. There are people far more aggressive on this site, and more unwilling to deescalate the situation. I did desire to deescalate, and so did he.
 
For example, Beau’s comment about preferring FiM over EG was polite and had no aggression, so I had no problem with it. It was subsequent comments of his that had more pushiness, and caused more discord then discourse among the both of us. I gave my viewpoints which I consider quite factual, from what I’ve seen observing the series. Starlight’s negatives outweigh her positives, but she has good chemistry with characters like Trixie. Nothing is learned by turning a blind eye to bad writing, fot do8ng so advocates the philosophy of ‘consume, consume’.
 
And when our viewpoints and aggression diverged too much, I desired to deescalate. It’s as simple as that.
