Description
This was destined to happen the moment i laid eyes on this amazing collab piece by Longinius and Vest. Using this pic as both inspiration and a guide, here we are.
Applejack taking a breather from her farm work on a hot day… so hot that the shirt came off at some point. Why? Because thick juicy APPULBACC.
This was a particularly interesting project because back muscles are NOT straight forward like the front. Match’s art style lends itself to simplicity with most of the lines to create most muscle shapes, but even with that it was still a bit of an adventure getting all the lines in place for her back. There are lots of smaller muscles bunched together in the back and there has to be symmetry in their placement on both sides while keeping in mind how far the character is turned and whether or not the arms are lifted.
But hey, in the end i think it turned out quite well!
The base image used for the pose was The back shot at the bottom of this Applebloom pic by Match. and everything else was taken from assorted pieces by him and other edits ive done.

I did construct some lines from scratch, but i used lines originally drawn by Match to piece them together so i do not claim credit there either. It took some careful tweaking, but a lot of the lines came from one other edit i had laying around, it was more a matter of shaving/cutting them up into the exact shapes needed that took time. The longinius/vest pic as a reference made organizing them all smoothly once i had them. I think the hardest part was creating the symmetry on the left side (i did the right first) Slightly different angles there.
But im glad it turned out well, i wasnt sure where i was gonna get with this and i was surprised by the result :)
