Description

Since Cozy debuted and her revelation as a villain, I always wondered if she was an adult in a kid’s body this entire time, similar to Baby Doll, the villain from Batman: The Animated Series that’s she’s based on. It will explain her behavior throughout the series and why she is so cunning and evil! But other than that, it’s a theory that I had for a while. She could be a very smart villainous child as presented in the show. But I always think there is more to Cozy than meets the eye. ;)

Missed potential with this idea, considering how much I enjoy Baby Doll. Another fine example made by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini about how villains aren’t always born: they are rather ordinary people who had no choice in the matter because fate was seemingly against them. And Mary Dahl was another sympathetic villain because of the fact she was a prisoner in her own body, which meant she’d be stuck in the same body looking in the mirror, and seeing herself with the same, child face endlessly, as if she herself were frozen in time. I think all she wanted was for others to look past, and give her the same sense of joy, and happiness of making others happy while being part of the closest to a family she projected unto her fellow actors - save for the boy/man who SHE perceived took that away from her by stealing the spotlight. Her need for ‘attention’ is actually her need to be recognized, and seen for who she is, and taken seriously as much as any other person deserves.
But instead, she was cursed with a fate that ensured she would never truly get that sense of normality she had in her show, where even though it was make-believe, she was still treated like an ordinary person and not someone trapped in a child’s body. Driven by anger, resentment, and frustration to become a villain, all she really wanted was return to the happiness of the make-believe world she had to herself: the one place where she wasn’t…different. Like so many of their other villains, Mary was a victim of circumstance trying to make some sense of the cruel world they live in, only to follow the dark path of hatred, and revenge.
Now if Cozy Glow had something similar going for her, it might have made her more interesting and given her a clearer goal besides the whole “I want to rule the world” spiel: that if the world would never treat her as a normal pony because of the fact she could have been a mare in a filly’s body, then she would take away what the rest of the world recognized as the normal aspect that keeps their world going - magic, itself.

With cozy its just implied she was born evil

I remember some fans even jokingly stated Cozy was going to be the season villain. They unknowingly predicted the future.
Granted, in hindsight her “sweet” act was a li’l intentionally overplayed before the finale.

@Background Pony #BD2D
Yeah, she’s probably in her 40s. :P

Considering the way she acts and how she’s consistantly reffered to as a filly I doupt it.

I’ve come up with the theory that she’s a homunculus (or the Equestrian equivalent, whatever that’s called) created by Tirek should his plans ever fail.
