A lot of that, admittedly, is how I chose to interpret and translate her features from G5 to G4. The problem with drawing G4 style accurately is you have to maintain the same level of detail: if you use more or less detail than the show normally uses, it’ll stick out like a sore thumb. This character’s hair is immensely detailed and the G5 style has tons of shading and textures, but when I chose to interpret her as having more of a Pinkie Pie type mane with rather flat colors it really sticks out. It’s why people who draw her in their own style nail her so much better than I do, because they can use as much detail as they want, and even Lulubell’s take on her which largely interpreted her the same was I did looks a lot better :D
