The only Changeling I’ve seen to utilize any real magic (aside from basic levitation as a Unicorn) was Queen Chrysalis.
Though as I said, the reason why they don’t have armor is it could prevent/hinder them from changing into something more formidable. A Bugbear for instance seems to be quite powerful and able to resist several mundane and even magical attacks.

I doubt transformations matter much in a fight between two magic wielders like this. Unless Thorax can change into sonething so large that those halberds cant easily inflict fatal wounds, and has the strength to break bones even through armor.

I think it would have been better if there were more changelings that were pro-Chrysalis.
If there were an AU fanfic that could cover the conflict between the Old Changelings vs New Changelings, that would be awesome.

I always hoped and thought this was going to happen until we got the Pharynx episode (and I was disappointed there weren’t any more of the old Changelings who might be loyal to Chrysalis).

Showing up to a fight unarmed and unarmoured isnt a good strategy, Thorax. Chrysalis doesnt look like shes in the mood for talk.
As a disadvantage, having armor and weapons might prevent some transformation designs though.
