The grab animation is only 6 startup frames and 3 active frames, which is barely enough time to animate Vetr doing anything of consequence.
Try to pull his pet out, maybe? I know it’s useless, but better than nothing.
Nothing else for him to do. You can’t input anything while being grabbed. And Winter Sprites see reindeer as their pets; reindeer see them as servants.
