Shipping hypocrisy

How come After the new episode aired people usid it as shipping fuel for lyra and bon bon ( despite it being clearly stated that they are friends) but noone is using twilight’s lineS at the end of the episode as evidence for a mane six omniship?
 
Sorry if my wording sucked.

Because we have had a long history of episode to establish their relationship, and over 100 episodes, there has been no sign of such a thing as omniship, and group hug is a normal friend thing.
 
This, however, looks much more intimate.
 

 
Chin lift, holding hooves with lovey-dovey eyes? That strays from friendship and going into romantic territory.
 
This latest episode is also the only time we’ve seen some definite interaction between them, so this is the only thing we have to determine their relationship. And in that only thing, they look more than just friends. Hence the ship boost in Lyrabon, but not the M6.

Bon bon said “you’re my best friend” and people interpret them as lesbians, but twilight sparkle said “i love you all” to the rest of the mane six and people interpret them as friends. And unless they say that they’re a couple, something which jim miller himself has said that they’re not, then i cannot accept it. Also, what episodes are you talking about, because in all 99 episodes prior they’ve only been in the background. And before you bring up rainbow rocks remember that those are differend characters. Also, as far as i know it is common for girls who are in a strictly platonic relationship to kiss eachother, something which no two mares have ever done.

(laughs) I’m sorry, are you trying to dictate to people what to ship? If there are two ships and they pick A, they are not obliged to ship B too to please your sense of fairness.

Nope, it’s just that “i love you all” is better shipping fuel than “you’re my best friend.”  
I’m not a shipper myself.

Ignore shippers, they will do as many mental gymnastics as possible to keep a sinking ship afloat and use any shred or droplet of shipping fuel to declare that their ship is “canon”.
 
Tl;dr, shipping is cancer

Maybe it’s because two mares together in a relationship is more likely to happen than six friends (no matter how close they are) to all be in a relationship together at the same time?

OP, I dunno what the hell you’ve been smoking today (And quite frankly, I don’t want any of it.), but let me tell you something that may fracture your headcanon.
 
Just because Twilight said “I love you all.” to the rest of the Mane Six doesn’t automatically mean that she has a crush on all of them. Besides, as YetAnotherBrony pointed out, it’s less likely for six close friends to have a romantic relationship with each other than it is with, say, two chicks.

First of all, “love” can be platonic, and “best friend” is not mutually exclusive to lover. Second, the #1 rule of story telling: Show, don’t tell. Actions speak much louder than words. No amount of “I love you” can compensate a lack of evidence in tones, expressions, actions, etc, and vice versa.
 

I mean the M6. We had had 99 episodes to establish that they are nothing more than friends. We have only 1 episode to show clearly what Bonbon and Lyra are to one another, so we have to cling on that to interpret their relationship for now.

Look, if this was an episode about Applejack and Rainbow Dash (to pick a random example) repeating for the entire episode’s lenght how close friends they are while locking hooves and staring into each other’s eyes, you bet your ass there’d be a lot of shipping fanart afterwards. I’m not sure why you are expecting the same effect from one group hug.

Let’s just ship whoever the hell we feel like and to hell with whether or not it’s canon or even plausible. Who cares about the details. That’s kind of the fun of headcanons, fanon, fanfics, and fanart: you can do whatever you want.

I never complained about anything. I was just pointing out that people seem to be ignoring the dialogue that is said in that episode. And to be honest, the only reason I made this thread Was because I wanted people to make jokes about Twilight saying “i love you all”

My parents love me, does that mean we are in a romantic relationship? Off course not.

That has nothing to do with anything.

I’m kind of bothered that Lyrabon is treated more faithfully by fans than canon married couples like the Cakes and Shining Armor and Cadance, meaning Lyra and Bonbon are more rarely separated or paired off with anyone else compared to the others I listed, it’s appalling and bothers me in ways I can’t describe, more so as I don’t ship it.
