I’m trying to think of what useful information is gained by having tagged that the uploader mentioned the artist in the description, but I really don’t see it.
It’s like an unnecessary extra step instead of just tagging the artist or artist needed.
For example when you know the first and last name of the artist, but you don’t know their pseudonym
In the lack of of any other identifying factor, why couldn’t the tag just be their name? If it’s not a breech of privacy enough to add in the description, it’s not a breech of privacy enough to tag it.
And even in that niche use, it - just like artist needed - should be removed from the image once a name is tagged, meaning it shouldn’t be on any of the images it’s on anyway.

True, but sometimes you don’t know what tag to add. For example when you know the first and last name of the artist, but you don’t know their pseudonym. I think it’s OK to keep this tag if it means “artist needed, but there is a hint in the description”. (Then it should imply “artist needed”.)
