Probably not, as the Isle of Scaly was first mentioned in a G4 book (Daring Do and the Eternal Flower). However, in said book, it was called the Isles of Scaly.

At this point, they should just refurbish Canterlot. It’s the only location that’s still recognisable as it doesn’t have a new name. There are only new locations in G5. Maybe Isle of Scaly was the Dragon Lands.

I disagree because for me it was just a good special, it was a fun story it introduced some new characters and had some nice moments.

This new TYT special has been garnering quite the response. And I mean quite the response. Reportedly, something unprecedented happened when your typical biased and reactionary negative review was given for the special…the bias was actually called out by a good chunk of people in the comment section for a change. I don’t know who did the review despite having a good feeling about who it was, but it doesn’t matter. I’m just…glad to be hearing this after all the times G5 has been trashed in return for giving us high-quality content and people haven’t stood up for it.

Have read the comic “Set Your Sail #1”.

Interesting, but the source of inspiration is taken straight from the Japanese manga “One Piece”, more specifically the Fishman Island Arc with all the ingredients taken from the fabled manga - pirates, ghost ships, an alien world at the bottom of the sea, and sea ponies more like fishmen from One Piece than from MLP. But the background is TYT canon, right up to the TYT special, and Misty had helped with spells taken from books and instructions she found in Crystal Brighthouse, as seen in the last episodes of TYT 2.0. And IDW comics are also included - at least the Nova charm Arc.

It seems that it is much more turbulent on the seabed than on the surface, where tense times are going on, and once again the New Mane 6 discovered that myths and tales from the past hold a kernel of truth. Izzy who had immersed herself in studies about sea ponies had learned how to see through conspicuous things in a manner reminiscent of Detective Pinkie from G4. It didn’t help her, so Zipp has to step in - in the next issue.

The sparking sea is a common term for the world’s oceans, and there are seven kingdoms - one for each sea, so we have seven seas in the world of Equus, which possibly has three continents and a larger island (Isle Scaly). Three locations so far; Seadragon Drift, Sea of Shadows and Luna - the last word is omitted, so it could mean the Luna Ocean on the west coast of Equestria. The sea outside Maretime Bay on the east coast is called the Celestial Sea because the sun rises from the east.

One of the seven monarchs is supposed to be Queen Calla Lily, and she probably ruled in the Celestial Sea, which can be called something else for the sea ponies on the seabed - “Shining Sea”.

And the sea ponies eat meat. Crabs, krill and snails. Probably also fish. Pipp and Izzy had no problem with that.

I really like it when Hitch sings. Dude’s got a great voice and great pipes.

Do you think the cutie mark crusaders’ work as teachers in the School of Friendship didn’t had consequences? They had not only ponies, but also various creatures from around the world to teach about the significance behind cutie marks that they had acquired unparalleled expertise on. It would not be surprising if the CMC succeeded in making the mysterious magic behind the cutie marks available to non-ponies as well, this is not based on genetics, but on the internal magical structure.

What we do know is that the cutie marks are part of the ponies’ internal magic and had probably been there since the first civilization. It had given them an advantage over everyone else because they could more easily address their magic, especially elemental magic which is the pinnacle of all magic in MLP. This was what Chancellor Neighsay had feared in S8, G4, when he resisted Twilight’s plans to spread friendship magic and magical homework to the rest of the world.

It is possible to say that all these non-equestrian cutie marks are a tribute to the CMC, which left a lasting mark on the world. This would not have been possible without Twilight Sparkle’s empire, which must have existed for a very long time in order for a “ponnyfied” world to occur, when all involved beings had the time and opportunity to raise themselves to the same level as the ponies.

We see signs of this with Destiny when she mentioned the importance of laughter in spreading relief and joy. This could only have happened as a result of the School of Friendship in Ponyville, from which many students had gone out to the rest of the world to spread friendship and knowledge. This must have taken several centuries.

The writers behind the special do a good job despite the circumstances. We’ll see Destiny later in TYT, but it’s an open question whether the IDW comics will have an impact or not. In any case, it is fated that Izzy and Destiny will later meet each other in this season, because they have formed a bond of friendship.

If humans consider ponies hot, obviously other creatures would too(look Spike and yona)

So every creature has a cutie mark now. Even Allura and that seapony. Guess this means the ponies are cross-mating to perma-insert their dominant gene. Also meaning that every creature are 5% pony.

Sprout 🤝 Comet: character who doesn’t appear in the first special of a show despite fitting the theme of the special and now their fans suffer.

I don’t mind that they’re revisiting Izzy’s creative block. Pinkie Pride was a revisit of Pinkie’s fear of others not liking her parties anymore, and it’s one of the best episodes in the whole show.

For TYT’s first ever special, it was pretty solid. Izzy’s quest was nice, the songs were okay, the seaponies and Destiny getting introduced was good though I wish they focused on them more and the idea of the amusement park was really great. Though I want to ask, didn’t they already do an episode of a character suffering through creative block?

TYT’s first special truly is good! This was Izzy at her best, I loved the world exploration and the songs, and it was awesome getting to see Allura show concern for Twitch towards the end. Also kind of sad how she and Twitch are trapped in Equestria forever now. There’s something even more sad than that though…

And it’s not Comet not appearing despite them including Starlight Ridge and an Auroricorn…it’s the fact that he didn’t appear or even get acknowledged despite the fact that he’s now trapped in Equestria forever too. This is a new low. <_< Otherwise, pretty sweet, hope the next special is even better.

You know. In retrospect, I’m surprised it took so long for Maretime Bay to get its own boardwalk the beach.

First Misty who with her elemental magic was the strongest, who found her role in E04, now Izzy who had experienced an “awakening” of her elemental magic when she used the Nova charm to unleash her creativity and revive the theme park at Maretime Bay .

We have seen that Misty was given a role as the guardian of the Crystal Brighthouse with the study of magic, we have seen her use a book of information when the egg with the Easter phoenix came to Maretime Bay. This is due to her element, empathy - and her experiences from when she served Opaline. She is now the presumed heir to Applejack. She can become the New Mane 6’s anchor as Applejack had often been when the Mane 6 existed many centuries earlier.

Izzy went on a journey of discovery with the Nova charm that she had obtained from Starlight Ridge, and then used it to tap into her internal talent and creativity, thus “powering up” her elemental magic. At the same time, she lives up to her role as Pinke’s heir, meeting Destiny and her tale of laughter and the revival of amusement parks to create joy and happiness. I don’t think the Nova charm is broken as it splits into several crystals, a mirror in the background may have become a portal that Allura and the New Mane 6 can later discover.

Then it means that the others will follow. Hitch; element of Kindness, Pipp, element of Confidence, Zipp, element of Bravery and finally Sunny, element of Hope. It is possible that Sunny’s elemental awakening could come at the end of the TYT 2.0 season and it could be in connection with the discovery of the mysterious Skyros. We don’t know what had happened to the alicorns of Skyros, why they “disappeared” before Discord’s invasion and didn’t help when Opaline attacked Equestria.

But a pattern may have formed and it could be very interesting to see how Hitch, Pipp and especially Zipp get their elemental awakening. Maybe Zipp will become the ruler of the Storm? We can therefore only hope that Hitch, Pipp and Zipp will find new locations, because it seems that the Nova charm follows a “map” of rainbows from place to place when Izzy traveled around. It is possible that Destiny’s home can be found on the dragons’ map from MYM.

Destiny is interesting. Her appearance suggests that she is a hippocampus sea pony, not a classic sea pony - this means that the lore from the G4 movie is probably used for the first time in MLP. There are different sea pony types, and the upcoming IDW comic saga - from what can be discovered - probably has three sea pony types; hippocampus sea ponies, classic sea ponies and kelpies. As TYT 2.0 had shown an IDW pony live, it is possible to connect these. The IDW comics made it clear that the transmutation magic from the G4 movie may be in existence in G5. It is possible that Destiny had her ancestry in ponies from Equestria who were transformed into sea ponies, who did not completely isolate themselves from their land (and air) relatives.

Allura demonstrated that she masters ice magic and that must mean that she is from a civilized origin despite her nature, and since we have seen that she preferred to avoid conflict, that must mean that she is not necessarily evil. She needed the Nova charm and was willing to do anything to get her way in this area, which means she has priorities that don’t bring her into conflict with the ponies. But now she believes that the charm is broken, and that she is stuck in Maretime Bay. Her magic, and the revelation that her target - a realm with a cool climate - that may have a connection with her brother, may serve as an opening to the cold North of the planet. Probably there were mountain ranges where she and her people live, snow leopards preferred high mountains.

It is possible that Allura will not be the final villain in this season which could end with something very important happening, which will concern Sunny - the element of Hope.

This one was pretty good. I’m revisiting Season Four of FiM, so I find myself thinking a lot about what you can do with 22 minutes. The story is fast-paced, but still has room to breathe. I think it’s the perfect-sized adventure for 22 minutes, and I never found myself checking the runtime.

Zipp singing is always welcome, and Hitch has some serious pipes. We’re basically guaranteed to see Destiny again. The cave that Allura went to is the same one from Portrait of a Princess.

I think TYT and MYM having different lengths and visual styles was a good thing; you sort of knew what to expect in terms of pacing and tone. Despite the downsides of 3D animation, I think the extra level of expressiveness helped sell the emotional moments.
