I interpreted it being simultaneous as well (at least, as “simultaneous” as transtimeline traveling can be to linear events).

Firstly, I don’t mean air dates but rather when it may have happened in the show’s timeline. It seems like it should be taking place during the movie as Pony Twilight is clearly missing for much of the movie, which is obviously because she is trying to stop starlight glimmer.
