I honestly wonder if they’re responsible for the trope of “Evil Hades”.
That trope existed beforehand, because being the “god of death” doesn’t exactly give him the best reputation. Ironically, if you study Greek mythology, Hades wasn’t a bad guy, and originally didn’t even want to manage the underworld, and he actually helps send good people to the Greek equivalent of Heaven, (the underworld isn’t “Hell,” like some mistakenly think, it’s basically the bridge area between life & the afterlife) so he’s not all bad.

While forcing Persephone to come to the underworld with him wasn’t right, in fairness he treated her very well. So well, she actually decided to stay with him, rather then go back home when that opportunity came. So as stated Hades really wasn’t a bad guy. In fact, she was probably better off with him, then her parents.
