“Elemental” doesn’t look bad, but it has a bit of competition. Another common criticism is it basically look like “Zootopia,” except with anthropomorphic elements, instead of anthropomorphic animals. Maybe more of a “romantic/love story” edge to it too, setting it somewhat apart, seeing as Zootopia was more about crime solving.

A Zootopia 2 is apparently in the works.

Yeah. It’s basically Zootopia but with matter. On a $200 million budget, which makes no sense today unless you’re an IP.

But as I said, Elemental has a more romantic edge to it, while Zootopia was more about crime/mystery solving, but both seem to revolve a bit on “race relations” in a tongue-in-cheek way.

I hear Zootopia did it better though.

Luckily I live in the US.

I didn’t see the first Spider Verse Movie until last night.

I think another thing that didn’t help Elemental At the box office is probably disneyplus.
It’s kind of become Expected that the movies will be on their shortly after

It’s funny to me that they list all the poor actors that got dragged into this at the top of these movies.

Sucks just as bad as in real scientist get tricked into some gobbledygook mystical woo video. Especially when the claims are presented as concrete fact, and have real world consequences.

They happily join in, being mislead about the nature of the video. Scientist can be highly specialized in scientific rigor, but lack social tact.

It sadly is not. If they we’re being ironic they wouldn’t have all moved to Qanon.

Blame the youtube algorithm for the Flat Earthers. It rabbit holed particularly not bright people into Flat Earth videos before people rightfully complained about the algorithm doing that crap.

I think Pixar kinda suffers from it’s own success. Like every project is expected to be a straight banger.

Where as Disney is mostly known for C to A movies. So they can squirt out Raya, a deeply mid across the board film, and get Ya Okay, Guess it was Fine. Box office banger
Pixar puts out Elemental, a movie that’s about about a 7 or 6.5 out of 10, it becomes The Worst Pixar Movie. Box office napalm.

I wouldn’t be too surprised if Pixar gets New Line’d and absorbed into the main Disney animation studio. Universal might do the same to DreamWorks and merge the team under Illumination as well, since Ruby Gillman is looking to be an even bigger disaster.

The brands will still exist, but they’ll no longer be their own thing.

Which will be awful imo. Consolidation means less variety. Just the same thing over and over, any smaller more interesting project being overshadowed by the giant.

Look at western comics. Half of it is similar cape stuff and nobody care about the other half no matter the quality.
