I’m confused on what context the tulpa tag should be used for, as I’m not sure if they are actually the same thing as imaginary friend or if they are something different.

Basically, I saw this definition…

I at first thought it would be useful, but it isn’t as I still feel some imagery under tulpa still muddles things.

This is more of a feature request, but there should be dead tags. For example, if someone tags sea pony or seapony, the system forces them to pick between sea pony (g4) and seapony (g1) before saving.

iirc it was at a time.

People preferred it as a species tag, so it was put back as a species tag. At least that’s how it seemed on the outside looking in, I don’t think I was staff at that time.

imo seapony (g4) should just be retagged to seapony, and sea pony to sea pony (g1).
Given that the more recent variant is much more prolific and commonly depicted, and that the “G4” variant has also become relevant in G5, so an updated name would be appropriate.

Or we could give them names that could help future proof in general, maybe make classical sea pony for the G1 variant.

Sea Pony and Seapony (g4) are not ‘splitting hairs’ as they are two distinct body types from entirely different eras.

Classical Hippogriff was made to differentiate between old fanon/oc hippogriffs before they came to be.

So… there’s something about species tags that I’ve found confusing for a while.

The canon hippogriffs are tagged as classical hippogriff, but the word “classical” makes me think of a more traditional depiction, rather than the My Little Pony version. There’s also sea pony and seapony (g4), which feels like splitting hairs.

Shouldn’t they be aliased then? One of them being the “parent and the other being aliased into it?

In the past, it’s always sounded a little like one was the actual generator and the other was a UI/models used by the generator, or something similar. And then there’d be a brief discussion of models and versions, and then it would just die out.

My understanding is that purplesmart.ai is the discord server/group that has done the pony models. While you can generate images via their discord, I feel like aliasing purplesmart to PonyXLV6 would be a mistake, given that both they have other models like PonyV5, etc., and that they are working on PonyV7.

It would be like aliasing “Prius” to “Toyota”

To elaborate, in the absence of an equivalent to a feral tag, the way our pony tag works is really closer to the body-type tags than the species tags; We need a tag to denote when something is like this without lumping it in with, say, anthro interpretations, so pony is mutually exclusive with being anthro (or it would be if people tagged correctly). This is in contrast to something like changeling, which is used whether show-accurate or anthropomorphized.

_{This isn’t an invitation to break out into a another “merits or lack-thereof of a feral/quadrupedal body-type tag” argument I only bring it up for the sake of context}

SO ive recently seen a lot of artist drawing Twilight in this outfit from the Gameloft game, does anyone know what it’s called?

I know that we have tags for characters in their Gameloft outfits such as “Babysitter Trixie”, but AFAIK i don;t know if there is a name for this outfit yet.

Does anyone who has the game know what the outfit is called so we get a proper tag for Twilight in this outfit?

I agree about having “subway (transportation)” and “subway (restaurant)” as main tags and having “subway” as an alias of “subway (transportation)”. It’s the best solution proposed so far.

Makes sense, though I do see some legit fish tails (and regular pony tails shaped like fish tails), so any changes need to be done carefully.

A BP has been tagging underwater-related tags quite profusely for the past year or two.

IMO, it’s not useful to tag fish tail merely when there are normal fish - as opposed to things like merponies or hybrid pony-seacreature original designs. Should fish tail get removed in such trivial cases, which would be most of these?

Likewise, I don’t think it’s useful to tag swimming just because characters are underwater - if they’re just hanging around, not moving in any particular way. Should swimming be untagged in such cases?
