Also “All That Matters” Blake and Yang have been set up since volume one, Yang is pretty clearly taken with Blake at first sight then tries to use Ruby like a puppy to flirt with her,

I give Sun/Blake credit for having Sun be there when Weiss learn about Blake’s race, where Yang stayed behind. Sun was also there to watch her back after everything went to shit, though I can’t be too harsh on Yang there since she lost an arm and going through PTSD. Funny enough, there were two Blake-shipping songs made, Like Morning Follows Night for Sun, and Bmblb for Yang.

the pendering is actively hindering the team dynamic, yang and blake don’t interact with other characters when they’re near each other. i remember how cool and refreshing it was that yang ran into wiess and blake got a season to flesh out her thing with sun (you know…the better fitting love interest that was there from the start but got fucking shafted cuz bumblebee shippers need there bottle or they get cranky)
 
i’ve never seen a ship get so much desprat panding.
 
remember the giant robot fight with torch wick? that segment of mix and maching the girls? that shit is never going to happen because of bumblebee.

You know, if someone told me before Volume 7 started ||that not only Penny would have come back but that also she would have become the Winter Maiden || I would have laughed VERY hard. Whatever, at least I’m glad that Penny got lucky and came back in the end.

Whether that’s a well-founded opinion is another discussion.
 
Personally, I think the foundation of such a relationship was planned from the start, just like how Pyrrha’s death was planned from the start.

The whole “season Maiden is an antagonist” just kinda happened that way because having that much power on tap kinda paints a HUGE target on your back. It’s not meant to be an intentional thing.

Penny becoming the new Winter Maiden is something I dig in it very much for two reasons:  
1)It broke the “season maiden must be an antagonist” trend, which is something I was very sick of;  
2)She’s the first character who EARNED her status, by doing the right thing in saving Winter and trying to protect Fria (Cinder and Raven instead stolen the power or killed the previous maiden because she was scared respectedly;  
As I pointed up at the beginning of the volume, the reason of why I was happy for Penny coming back, was that they gave back the chance of great character development they took away from her years ago by killing her the first time. I’m glad to see that I was right all along in that thinking. I love it.

Sigh. I get that JNR and Oscar have very little experience fighting Neo, but jeez louise, I didn’t think they’d get bodied THIS hard.
 
Okay, that was good on Oscar and Jaune. Go on the defensive, because Neo SPECIALIZES in being a slippery counter-attacker.
 
How the hell? When did she have the time to set up a clone?
 
I suppose I can’t fault Neo for bailing the instant she senses that her opponents are starting to wise up to her tricks.
