All we know about Season 7 is there’s a Luna song, Celestia and the bullies won’t be getting an episode and Babs Seed, Suri and Ember won’t be in it at all. For those wondering why Luna and Derpy so popular and all characters introduced since Buttongate are getting the shaft, it’s called the Popularity Event Horizon. That’s why 6 and 7 are the most popular Touhou games, because they were the first games released on a platform not on extensive life support (the PC-98 was dead by 1992 IIRC).

Too easily? For 4-5 years Luna and many new invented characters got the nod over Celestia. And what did we hear about Season 7? New Luna song. Fuck that.

They showed Celestia get a little restless around Twilight this last season instead of encouraging her brown nosing like she always does.

The best way to handle Starlight who was introduced in the series so awkwardly, is to minimize her protege lessons with Twilight and maximize her relationship with Trixie. Overall, public response has been the best with her around Trixie. And at the same time, they should focus more on Celestia’s characterization and Twilight having more self-actualization episodes like Amending Fences.
 
If they focus on Twilight’s self discovery, they can ease Starlight out of the whole ‘apprentice of Princess of Friendship’ aspect without drawing attention to it. That way they can have Starlight as just a useful side character acting naturally with Trixie, instead of a forced main character, because its just not going to work out well that way.
 
Thankfully, Starlight choosing Trixie as her best friend at beginning of the finale is one of the few good results of that finale, and helps set that up. It helps cement Starlight is not going to follow pony Twilight’s path of mentor worship. :)
 
….So like many of the issues with the show, a lot of it stems from whether the show has the guts to develop Celestia and give Twilight more reality checks. More Trixie couldn’t hurt in a lot of these areas too.

Well, there were so many of them that i don’t doubt that some still ran off to join her. we didn’t see too many of the reformed ones.

I just watched the King Thorax episode.
 
I must say, in terms of writing, this is a huge improvement compared to Starlight’s time travel finale. I mean, the time travel finale had great aesthetics with the alternate timelines but it had lackluster writing.
 
I mean, with the magic draining throne, targeting the most beloved ponies in Equestria, getting Thorax again, it was pretty great.
 
The one thing that bugged me the most would be the ending scene where Thorax turns into Skittles and them suddenly, every changeling was like “OK” and did it in seconds. I get that it was due to time constraints but they could’ve at least kept some changelings for Chrysalis when she ran off. Then, we’d have two changeling races against each other.

Starlight’s in danger of becoming FiM’s Scrappy Doo, if she’s not handled correctly. She is best used in small doses.

They could get rid of Starlight and Twilight, all of the alicorn princesses, all of the magic and fantasy elements in the show, and just make it about Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie’s daily lives.
 
Hmm. Would they have to get rid of Spike too? He’s kinda attached to Twilight for better or worse.
 
I figured “fantasy and magic elements” would cover it, but Discord would be gone too :D

has anyone noticed that Apocalypse Dash’s left ear is torn, and that’s where the earpieces go according to the SFM model pack? (They don’t appear to be in the actual episode, though…)
