Never been a superfan of the ship, but I think its as high as it can go.
 
This show doesn’t have the chops to tackle any deeper a relationship.
 
Course, they could always have another episode in which Rarity assures him he is no monster. By being the thing that makes him want that to be true.

Did ships (not THAT type of ships) ever appear on the show prior to the finale? I think this may have been the first time.
 
Which raises the question, does Equestria even have a fleet or ships AT ALL? It’d make sense that they do but we do not know for sure.
